Awesome

The beginning of this is somewhat like Setting Sun (near the middle/endish part where it's all sad). The timpini was well used, simple yet effective.

The parts where the strings begin to dance with that pan effect was where it began to get really epic. The only thing I think this song is sorely sorely missing, is the fluttering flute, weaving itself with the strings and brass. You need some treble instruments to make it sound a bit more epic in my opinion.

I also didn't quite like how those fast dancing strings suddenly went out and was replaced with yet another sad segment. I feel you are changing the scenery too fast.

Did you also consider a choir? Choirs are like peanut butter and honey in epic songs. They go oh so very well.

Aside from that, it was a marvelous song. Well done theinfernumflame, well done indeed. Another 5/5 from me, keep them coming.

theinfernumflame responds:

Thanks very much for the review.

Yes, this song sorely misses a choir, but I have been unable to find much in the way of quality choir soundfonts (although I've had a little more luck of late), but it is something I would have loved for this song to have. The flute suggestion is something that would work well in this song too.

I did have a scene in mind when I wrote this song, so that's why some things do change quickly.

Thanks again for the review.

Inspiring

oh just how awesome is this song!

Too awesome.

I'm a classical composer myself, so I place alot of emphasis on feeling and melody, and I feel you have captured both these feelings rather well.

As you stated, the feel of the song changes quickly, yet incredibly effectively. It just flies by you, and before you can face its full spirit, it morphs into something new, a new core, a new entity. Like a generation has just passed me by.

I know you kept this purely strings, but I keep wondering, just how much more dramatic the sad part would be if you had chimes, some tubelar bells.

Just my two cents ^^.

Awesome piece theinfernumflame, you have inspired me greatly with this piece. 5/5 from me, keep them coming.

theinfernumflame responds:

You are actually one of my favorite composers here on Newgrounds.

As for this piece, I actually wrote it quite a long time ago, but I didn't submit it until now. I felt I wanted to add something (maybe timpani or something), but everything I tried seemed to take away from the song rather than help it, so that's why I left it as it was.

Thanks for reviewing.

neat

It is unbelievable, why this would get such low ratings. After this review, I will be fiving each of these songs to counter the 0 voters.

Smooth, flows well and without much fault. I just feel there were some sour notes being played by that organ.

I would also reconsider some of these synths you use. They present a very diverse feeling, but many of them I feel just don't blend together that well.

Nice, simple yet effective percussional beat.

Good stuff Kat_and_Mouse, keep em coming.

Kat-and-Mouse responds:

Ouch, ouch, ouch. I'm not really sure why the ratings for this song is low either. Like I can understand why Buzz Count is, but this deserves at least a 3 lol. Wtvr.

But what you say is true though. Some of the organ does seem a bit off at times. I was totally improving on a lot of the organ, which basically means goofing off in key ;-)

Awesome

this one was quite dark. I like this feel a lot. As a classical composer myself, i'm always trying to capture an image, a feeling, or a story, and I feel you've done just this, and you've done it well.

Love the bells, adds a really neat dark feel.

Nice percussional work, simple, but effective.

If I am not mistaken Sytrus in FL?

This piece was full of energy, and kept moving, the blend of instruments work really good.

this one definatly gets a 5/5 from me. Keep em coming crashacid.

Impressive

Nice feel. I'm not really into this kind of music myself, but this one was interesting enough to keep me listening.

Nice feel, just flows by.

By your first two songs, you seem to like wax, and its untimely demise! I can totally see wax melting with this piece, cuz people are dancing too DAMN HARD, and the room is heating up, and so all wax related items melt.

Too bad.

great stuff man, 5/5 from me, keep em coming ^^.

Awesome

I think this should be more general rock man, i'm not getting a very big jazz feel out of this, but that means nothing when it comes to how teh awesome it is!

I absolutely love the power behind that guitar, just screams to the heavens, and stays there! I've been trying to make some good metal tracks, and I drop by here often to listen to some of your songs to get inspiration. So far it's been working, I plan to stick around for a while longer.

I have no suggestions for this song man, just awesome. Great stuff 5/5 from me, keep them coming.

mhb responds:

thanx man. it makes me feel really nice to hear that you listen to my stuff for metal inspiration. if you ever need any advice about anything, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail. thanx again for the fi5en, the review, and the download!

Good menu music

subtle, simple, soft. Makes excellent ambiant menu music.

Not much to say, but quite awesome SpamWarrior.

5/5 from me ^^.

SpamWarrior responds:

haha thank you, not much effort i'm afraid tho, i was gonna try write a symphony but got stuck in that.

Ah well, i'm still only learning :P

Please be harsher and more critical in future if possible, if not no worries :P Ta, i'll check your work out sometime too.

Awesome

I don't know, I personally feel this song was meant to be played by the ever suffering violin. Screeching its soul over the ears of any who would listen. It still sounds great with the piano, but I feel its missing something... substantial without it.

When it gets loud, and fast paced, that was an awesome rendition. Thats where I feel you've compensated for the lack of viola very well, sounds quite angry sad now, full of subtle rage.

Awesome ^^.

Keep them coming Distortzion.

Distortzion responds:

Great review! :D

I actually wanted to do a violin, but I couldn't find one :(

I shall check one of yours now or then :)

Sweet

A true classical piece. Pieces like this make me want to study classical music more. Makes me aware just how behind I am for my own classical compositions.

Great stuff man, nothing to add, just perfect. 5/5 from me.

Scarlatti responds:

Wow, thank you. That makes me want to study more, too. Music is all I really care about, and reviews like this make all that studying and struggling worth it. Much love to all the people.

Neat

it's been a while Misery666, good to see you're still making stuff.

First thing that comes to my mind, is the percussoinal works. It's well done, and flows rather well. A simple beat, but an effective one.

Good choirs in the background, sets up that whole goth feel right away!

That lone string with that guitar works pretty good too. I feel the guitar should have been a tad bit louder.

I also feel the song doesn't really go anywhere, it keeps going, but I know you like to rap to some of these beats, and this song would be perfect for a song with lyrics. It has a good foundation for it.

Good stuff man.

4/5 from me, but i'm pressin 5 to counter the 0 voter as much a I am able.

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
