Excellent

It builds up pretty damn neat, and it seems like a pretty large collab happening here. I can understand how difficult it can be to create something with other people.

It sounded pretty damn neat though.

I think a bass sound introduced at the beginning to go with the high treble synth might have made the song sound fuller, and more powerful.

Still, damn neat, 4/5 from me Chaos_of_Yakuza, good stuff man, keep em coming.

Chaoz-of-Yakuza responds:

Well thanks for the help on this... I thought the lil ringy thing was a bit extended on the song too much... but this was just like a short mix. Thanks for the review. by the way man call me josh. i would like to collab with you sometime if you want. Thanks for checkin my page.

Neat

don't say you know nothing, for somebody who knows nothing about music, they sure can make an interesting tune.

It does sound a bit too fanfarish, but its still a great piece.

I didn't quite like the breakdown end with the timpini and the hat, the rest was pretty damn fine. Good stuff Dunnanunna, keep them coming. I don't know nothing about music theory either, but with practice, you'll become very powerful. You have some serious potential, keep at it.

Dunnanunna responds:

Yea.... Well i did not really think of the title. I asked rythim_man for an idea. And thanks for the encouragement! the only problemm is i have no money, so i can not buy better audio programs.... But ill use what i have to make some more, and hopefully better, music

Pretty damn neat

Moves quite quickly, and like you stated, passionate like love. Gets slow and down, then hyper, and it literally did end before I knew it.

It doesn't deserve this score, fiven it right away.

If you're going to use flutes, you must use the triangle XP. I think the flutes and the triangle "ping" is simply... made for each other. Bless their hearts.

Great string works, what VST/Soundfont did you use for it, it sounds pretty damn neat.

Rythim-Man responds:

Romantic music is all about passion (not really about romance, but since romance is passion alot of the time romantic is about love too). I'm a romantic ahd chamber music playing pianist. Playing romantic music is an effortless way for me to get girls. Anyway, it was fun actually composing romantic for a change.

Thanks for the 5! :)

Flutes and triangle..hmm, I'll keep that in mind.

The soundfont that I used is the same one I've been using in just about all my pieces. They were just made for classical pieces so they sounded much better here. The file name is synthgms.sf2 (I'm assuming synthgm means synthetic general MIDI, and sf2 indicates that it is indeed a sound font). I don't know where you can download this other than it being included with finale. However I think finale playback for this soundfont is different than other sequencers. I may be wrong, anyway, the reverb I had to add in my self. I also put in a little bass boost myself, finale and the soundfont wasn't responsible for that.

Unfinished? Hardly.

oh my god! How can you people say its unfinished!?

I didn't think the instruments were doing their whole thing at all! I see a grand picture, scenes flashing, changing, and morphing with time, seasons, people, lives, stories, it's all just washing by me.

The melody is fierce, gentle, yet unrelenting. It will push on, regardless of what it see's, no matter how many tears it witnesses hit the ground. Like rain, like snow, like the heat of the sun. All cycles, all changing, but all there.

I personally loved the melody. And felt it was way too short.

One of my new favourites, great job Khuskan, seriously.

5/5 from me man.

I loled until I did cry.

this song WILL be played the next time I go see a doctor, who tells me I may die.

Moving, and emotional

okay so after listening to it a couple times, I am ready for my review.

Great piano opening, but I gotta say, nothing about it says "victory". It says, "sacrafice". The end goal may have been met, but the pirce they paid for it, may be something they did not anticipate. The death of friends, the loss of family, the ruin of a nation. An epic war, with epic casualties.

The slow strings and brass go well together, and that subtle choir does justice to the atmosphere, but like I stated before, it simply isn't a "Victory and Triumphant" feel. However this may very well be just me. I am a person dripping with sorrow apparently ;). I asked a friend what he thought and he said he saw hero's coming home from a battle, smiles plastered on their faces. They learned a great deal, and came back champions.

Two complete opposite stories, with one song. This is a very good sign and a somewhat bad sign. It's good because it means your songs have the flexibility to serve many purposes, its bad because of the exact same thing. it is not fully defined and accurate in its depiction.

Good build ups, with the timpini, it sets the feel of military action, which would again emphasize the whole epic fight scene, this feeling is NAILED with the snares.

Make it faster, make the brass a bit louder, so that they are filling the song with a more raw energy. A more wild, and great scene.

The chimes added a pretty cool effect. Go Chimes!

I don't know why you're getting such low scores. I personally think you should get another alias madboss. People seem to dislike this page, constantly bombarding it simply because they see other songs which were wrongfully zeroed. Start fresh man, i'm sure next time will be better.

Here's a 5/5 from me. Keep up the good fight.

madboss responds:

Well I wanted to achieve a 'story' like your friend said - maybe I've picked a wrong title for the song.
Somtimes it's difficult - even for me - to give titles tom my own tracks so there's might be some truth what you were saying about the 'flexibility' of my songs.
Thanks for the review and the positive critics I try to improve even more.

Impressive

well you put the effort to make it, DAMN IT, i'm going to put the effort to write you up a review!

First, I didn't quite like the opening intro, I felt the empty silence sections for them were a little odd.

However when the second set of notes came rushing in after the initial piano solo, that part was pretty damn neat, and catchy.

As the song builds up, that goes away, and then you forcefeed the whole song's glory into my face.

that very same melody you used at the beginning, when used in the middle, works miracles. Flows very well then, my advice, remake a new intro, a completely different one.

Love the synths you used for this piece, very moving, and flows really smoothly and fades out wonderfully.

Have you considered a choir and flute? The two are just so essential for that heavenly feel ^^.

This is a great piece General_Leo, 5/5 from me again.

LoneEagle responds:

Hmm... a choir and flute you say? Welli haven't thought about the flute - damnit - but where on earth do i find some "good" choir? Ha! Screw FL's choir :) But you're right though, flute would have been awesome.

Ah yes the synths, thanks to Sonic Foundry for the nice fade out cause there ain't no way that i'm making manual fade outs like back in the days, like even before NG.

So you think that the first piano pattern is to empty? Maybe i started it out to simple and i should have jumped straight to the 2nd part of the intro...

Remake the intro... nah! All sales are final and no refunds what so ever. But i will be keeping all advice in mind for upcoming music. I never go back to old pieces because i have to move on all the time... it's hard to explain but i think that you are pretty much like me on this aspect.

Thanks alot for the reviews and votes and everything else that you have done for me now and in the past... it means alot to me and i really mean it!

Love the bells!

I had my doubts about this song at first, didn't strike me too evil.

Then those bells came in, and though they weren't dark, they were just plain awesome to hear. The song loops great, and there is good structure to it.

I keep wondering what this would sound like if you replaced that bass with an electric guitar, something more raw you know. That might make it too... rageful?

Not quite sure what i'm trying to say General_Leo, good to see you submitting again ^^.

5/5 from me, keep them coming man.

LoneEagle responds:

Well... i didn't think of this song as an evil song myself but i just liked the title so i put it there XD It's pretty hard to come up with names and i did not want to call my loop something along the lines of "yeah nice loop" lol.

It seems that pretty much everyone loves the bells on this track. I don't think that i would have liked an electric guitar for a bass especially when i think about what FL has to offer in elec guitars.

Thanks alot for the review, i didn't think you would answer the call that fast. I guess you just have time to read the reviews and not answer them in the immediate... you busy guy.

Stil thanks alot for your time i really appreciate it!

Awesome

such a delightful dancing of that flute. I really really think you should have introduced those drums sooner man, those drums were pretty neat, kept me dancing.

I didn't find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, but I did find myself dancing pretty hard.

Also, the guy playing the bagpipes, XD, poor them. They played that note for so long, did they make it? I swear I thought at some point the song would suddenly be stopped by gagging noises and a *thud*, followed by frantic "OH MY GOD!"

But it didn't ^^.

Awesome stuff man, awesome. 5/5 from me.

Some powerful stuff here!

is that the ocarina I am hearing in the sea background?

My first comment would have to be the volume of the sea, I think its far too loud at the beginning.

The melody you present in this song is awe inspiring, I think this may be my favourite song amongst what you have here. its just so damn powerful, and as a classical composer myself, I place a lot of importance on feel and melody, both of which I feel you have mastered here.

That sea volume... just... too loud.

It breaks into some awesome trance after that initial classical moment, which is just as inspiring.

This one totally blew me away madboss, 5/5 from me.

madboss responds:

Wow! Thanks for the positive comments - and I think I will fix that sea-FX volume. I use to have problems with the volume levels - need to be improved in these.

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
