neat

oh man, the first thing that comes to mind when I hear this, is adding either a high octaved flute, or solo violin. Those instruments would add to the whole "adventure" sense, or lost, depending on the melody you incorporate.

Good guitar work, but the song right now is pretty basic.

4/5 from me rioross, keep them coming.

rioross responds:

basic yes, but i myself like it.
indeed a flute or violin would be niceto to add.
and dont worry, they will keep coming!

Has the potential

The song has intense potential, but you need to rework those string chords. It's clashing quite heavily with each other.

Make sure there is no dissonance (as in, no notes should be played one note above or below each other).

Otherwise, it suits the role well.

4/5 from me kylebrandon, keep them coming, soon enough you'll be making really good stuff.

kylebrandon responds:

Heh, thanks man!
Can you believe I made this just with my mouse!?
Soon im gonna get a MIDI cable so I can plug up a keyboard to really get things sounding good.
The reason this doesn't sound complete is because it crashed and this was all I had left. But I still found it reasonably good so I submitted it up here.
Thanks for the review MaestroSorrow! It means alot!

Awesome!

nice, flows very smoothly. You have great skill!

5/5 from me.

jackie1188 responds:

Thank you :-)

So happy!

XD

I had this image of a young kid walking (you know, in the way where they kick their legs up), over a hill, fishing rod hung over shoulder, the sun shining, clouds hanging lazily over the air.

Brilliant... truly a happy tune.

The chosen instruments worked well together.

I have nothing to add to this song ^^.

5/5 from me DaVince, excellent stuff, keep them coming.

DaVince responds:

Why, thanks! I made a few tunes a bit similar to this, so I will upload those later too. :)

What the HELL!?

gave me goosebumps listening to it.

Freaky as hell...

5/5 from me Despoilah... very nice.

Despoilah responds:

Heh thank you mate, check the web for more music man.
If you have Slsk then I can let you hear alot more.

Chillaxed

so laid back, so damn relaxing.

I would think this would belong in Indie.

I have nothing to add to this song, I can just sit on my porch, and swing on my hammock for hours on end with this song.

Excellent, well played.

4/5 from me Nero_SteveO because it was so short ^^. Keep them coming.

Nero-SteveO responds:

If you want I can submit it longer!
Just send a PM.

Impressive

This song's essence is quite neat, using both natural instruments with synths. Blended in quite nicely.

The melodic structure is simple, yet effective. I keep imagining how this song would be like if you added some tubelars bells to it, you know, deep resonating "bang's" to give it a neat element.

I'd like you to check out my last piece, I tried to use a few D&B tactics (timpini work really), and would like your say if it worked out.

Well equalized, I really liked the vocal stabs. It was in fact the vocal stabs that made me think the bells would be a good addition.

Awesome stuff, another 5/5 from me, keep them coming.

Impressive

some neat D&B for sure.

I really liked the whole set up of this song, I do not think you should have used that line "You won't think that i'd shoot your sorry ass" more then once. The first time it had a punch, after that it got a tad bit "uncomfortable".

I really liked the effects you pull together on this song, especially those string like sounds around the middle point.

Great work.

5/5 from me Petrichor, keep them coming, this is some awesome stuff indeed.

Well done indeed

Hey MusicalRocky.

That nice piano intro was quite fascinating.

So eerie.

The strings that come in shortly after, is what immediatly sets the mood. A very dark, a very corrupt being sneering down at those who would oppose it.

Great melody work. I really like how you made the violin work its little heart out.

Love the Spiccato strings you present in this piece, so subtle, so vivid, and it opens its doors to a rather noble kind of voice, not that creepy, and this is what makes the piece rather welcoming to my ears. It is creepy, yet it is epic, a dark lord basking in his court kind of thing.

The song also loops wonderfully.

Easily a 5/5 from me MusicalRocky, keep them coming man.

MusicalRocky responds:

You and your awesome reviews, Maestro. It took me a bit to come up with that piano intro, surprisingly, but luckily D minor is easy to improv in. Eerie was my goal. I love those cellos that come in :)

Yeah, I spent a lotta time on the melodies. There were quite a few in there.

Oh, those pizzicato strings. Maybe that's what you're thinking of...? Anyway, that was a very fun part to write indeed. I like the imagery you have..."a dark lord basking in his court." Never thought of it that way.

Looping wasn't my intention, but it worked out!

Thanks, Maestro. Great review.

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
