a struggle?

I think this is quite a great piece... but do I hear some struggle in making of this song? I've always thought you were heavily on classical sounds, which could lead to difficulty using techno sounds (god help me, i'm still learning how to spell... Saew? ;).

The techno sound could be reduced in future songs containing techno qualities, or at least not so loudly. The overpowers the piano, and conflicts with it to some degree. Also a flanger effect on the electronic rythym might give it a neat effect.

Kudo's.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

... flanger...? lol... stop with the words people. Of course I struggled with this song lol. Took me forever to write that entire thing in real time without screwing up. haha. I'm usually classical, but this time around I wanted to play around. This was a fun lil experiment... I like the end. Yah... turn down the techno sound... I agree. Thanx again.

huzzah!

Hmm, this piece was indeed quite exceptional. It's a good thing your not deaf, or going to die at an early age, but still thats great.

BTW, i'll be adding you to my MSN soon, hopefully we can talk to each other soon.

Huzzah to you!

X()!

It was pretty funny.

Good work ^^.

marshmallow979 responds:

Thanks, it was a hit at my school (I sold mixtapes and got a killing).
What's the XD thing? I don't get it

have a website!

Yes you should definatly have a website with all your music. I've seen the two submissions that were used with this song, they failed to do it justice >_>.

Well whatever, one day maybe.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

haha... well... at least he used it, I was very happy for that. For now... this *is* my website :). I'll consider making one though on my free time... which is... now lol. Thankee.

personally insulted!

I am personally insulted to see such low scores for these fine pieces.

I tell you Dan... you have many jealous rivals, I will do my best to counter them, because none of these songs here deserve less then a four!

This one sounded like a person was indeed getting ready to fight, but it was a fight they knew they were going to lose, it had some sadness to it.

Keep up the composing, know that even jealousy is a form of respect.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

You speak with a plethora of reason. I know they don't deserve all 5's... theres always room for critique. But I hate coming back here and seeing what was a 4.50... turn into a 3.10 in only a half hour. This piece was an experiment with the timpani lol... a small software company has asked me to write up a new one for them. So I shall :).

deeper notes

I'd say the deeper notes really lifted the piece. I do this quite a bit too in my free time, pick a key and just play in it at random... sometimes the results are good, sometimes its enough to make gods cry in sorrow, but regardless its nice ^^.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

haha now you got me curious... I'm gunna check out some of your work. Looks like you've had a brush with Omegas Eye as well. :)

Awesome

This one was also really good.

90% of the time, I am able to guess the next note, or how the melody of a song goes, for this one however, it kept me guessing for a really long time. I really enjoyed it ^^, kudo's.

JoeWicked responds:

Thanks! It's really reassuring to know that you thought it was unpridictable. Personally, I feel that is usually the best kind of music.

interesting.

You've portrayed a jungle beat rather vividly, however I felt you could have better formed volume levels. I think there was a melody in the background, but I had to strain myself to hear it, after about 30 seconds I gave up trying. Lower the drums, increase melodic volume.

Some jungle sound effects would have only improved it all the more ;).

JoeWicked responds:

I felt that too, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I just ran out of melodic ideas for it and I originally ment for it to be all percusive ambience before I started adding stuff to it. Thanks for the review.

For a first attempt.

I have to say for a first attempt, it is truly good. Do you use Fruity Studios/Loops for this song, I think a hear their choir.

Though it may be repetitive thats not always a bad thing. It makes for good background music.

If you are not doing it now, you should use Compresser effects for your songs, by doing so you will be able to keep a solid waveform without distortion or "overpowering" instruments, that block out the sounds of other things.

Great work ^^.

digital-musician responds:

thanx dude u are helpful, and yes i use fruity loops, good job "/

I love the melody

The melody is truly catchy. Congratulations, this is a work well worth listening, and deserves nothing less then a 4.0+ rating.

digital-musician responds:

100% thanks

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
