Thats pretty damn neat.

It is indeed a simple beat, but it is an effective beat.

My suggestions.

I don't know if the percussional work actually benefits this piece shooting. I think removing the percussional stuff might actually make this sound better. This sounds like a song that would rely on itself to set a beat and pace. The piano does this plenty fine.

The strings should be a bit louder, I think they make for a great support instrument with the piano, and should be more supportive by being louder.

Have you considered putting in a little triangle ping, just weaving into the background? I feel that may add some interesting flavour.

I know this is a song you made to learn how to use the program, and i'm quite pleased at the skill you demonstrate already.

Great stuff shootingBLiND. 4/5 from me, keep them coming ^^.

shootingBLiND responds:

thanx for the encouraging words and the advice on this. i'll see what i can do with it

It has improved nicely!

Hey Raust, i'm back to see what you did with this song.

The intro was indeed shorter, which was a really good idea!

As General_Leo stated, the thunder sound is a bit overused, and for future refernce, a WICKED way to use thunder, is to reverb and delay it. You know, a nice crackling thunder noise, and of course, finding a better thunder noise would probably help.

The way the song speeds up now is extrememly efficient, it flows well, and has that feeling that its moving along nicely.

I really enjoyed this song Raust, I can see some powerful stuff brewing here. I can't wait to see what you may bring forth in months to come ^^.

5/5 from me this time, keep them coming Raust.

RaustBlackDragon responds:

hahaha, sorry, it's just so funny because i timed it and the intro is actually longer. sorry i just find it funny. anyway, thanks for the review. i'm glad you guys enjoy it.

Awesomeness!

You have intense skill!

I absolutely adore it! I will try to spread your name around, more people must hear this wonder! I am a classical composer myself, so I judge quite hard on melody work and feel for a song, but this has bypassed my standards BY FAR!

What VST do you use?

The song also loops really well, which is ALWAYS a plus! Easily usable in any flash.

5/5 from me Zaphire_Ca, i've bookmarked your page, keep them coming ^^.

zaphire-ca responds:

Thanks. ^_^ We should trade ideas on MSN sometime.

Impressive!

Greetings curriemaster ^^.

Escape to planet Deeminor? I enjoyed the title nearly as much as I enjoyed the song itself, which was indeed quite brilliant!

It flows exceptionally well, a problem I seem to experience often!

The transitions here is what really impresses me! There are no use of snares, no crashes, no "BANG" of any kind, that are normally used to muddle up a second to jump into another melody, yet this flows so well without the use of any such thing.

easily a 5/5 from me curriemaster, keep them coming ^^.

curriemaster responds:

MaestroSorrow,

Glad you liked the title! I thought it was quite amusing myself. Im happy you enjoyed the song as well, this is the song I've taken the longest on; doing the layering and deciding on velocities and such.

Thanks very much for the review, Maestro, hopefully I will keep them coming ;).

Awesomeness!

Truly great mhb. I really liked it when it picked up, but at that point, it lost all of its sadness, and was replaced with festering anger. There were also some strange areas where the guitar played some sour notes, but that didn't really effect the song in any way.

I would have liked to hear more diversity instrument wise, but it was still great.

5/5 from me mhb, keep them coming ^^.

mhb responds:

thanx sorrow. yeah the idea was to make it have a moment of sadness and then explode with hate for that sadness. but i hadta split parts one and two 'cause it was too long for it to be all onetrack on here without losin' sound quality.

Great stuff!

This moved REALLY great! You have some exceptional talen NemesisTheory, I have bookmarked your page, and will visit often ^^.

Where do you get your sounds? I am trying to get some Oriental flavoured songs myself, but have failed to find acceptable soundfonts.

I have nothing to suggest in making this better, pure awesomeness!

5/5 from me NemesisTheory, keep them coming ^^.

NemesisTheory responds:

Hi to you as well! :) Again, I'm glad it moved you and even more happy that you will visit often.
I had the feeling people didn't really care much about my music, so it has been slow on this page for a few months... :)

As for my sounds, I use a plugin called Hypersonic (from Steinberg) and I use that in FL Studio, but I might ReWire Reason soon, heard that it has some great oriental sounds as well. Might be worth looking into. :)

Again, glad you like it, and I will upload more soon. :)

Very impressive indeed.

I'm glad I was able to give you some form of inspiration Zenon ^^. This song indeed does sound pretty cool, especially those strings in the background! Then again, I am a classical nut so you can probably figure out why :P.

There was no volume issues, it flows well.

I have nothing to suggest to make this better ^^.

5/5 from me Zenon, keep them coming ^^.

PERVOK responds:

No volume issues?
I thought the kick should ahve had more presence...as thought everyone else who reviewed this...

And the strings were supposed to be the focal point of the song, so im glad you enjoyed them.

Thanks for the review!

yay for another piece!

heh, are you surprised? You play wonderfully, and they want to hear you! I can hear them by the way ^^, how DARE they laugheth whilst this piece is going on?! BLASPHAMY!

Again it flows exceptionally well, and your improv skills are off the charts, I will have to learn and aspire to this level one day. Great stuff theBig_ED, thank you for sharing yet another piece.

theBig-ED responds:

lol if you only knew the only people who listen to me play are the people that hear me every day and want me to shut up(i know that sounds harsh but thatz how it is)so your reviews mean more than you will ever know lol

Quite impressive

I really like it when the piano kicks in, I feel though, that it speeds up with no warning, if I were you I would have a reverse crash or something, to indicate change.

When the piano stops and you bring in that other melody, t'was quite great, especially when the choir went all high, and the piano kicked in, that is my favorite part! (I write this as I listen so that might change ^^)

I like the string with piano combo, and then to top all that off, you add the choir again, very good melody work.

Congrats on top 5 of the week, you deserve it ^^.

5/5 from me Raust, also for future reference, put music like this in classical, they don't get listened to if you put them in misc. Keep them coming ^^.

RaustBlackDragon responds:

Good advice. and THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME ABOUT THE 2nd PLACE THING! I WOULD HAVE MISSED IT!

Great stuff

Its gorgeous theBig_ED, I am a classical composer myself, and though I can't play the piano worth beans (yet), I like to believe I am decently good at what I do ^^.

The fact that you JUST pick up a key and run off with it, is what REALLY impressed me. I do that a lot in my spare time to get some ideas, but I can never really make a full song out of it.

Simply wonderful, I hope to hear more from you.

5/5

(BTW, you should have placed this in Classical, when you place something in Misc, it very rarely gets listened to ^^)

theBig-ED responds:

hey dont give me too much credit lol itz only on the spot if i say it is........but yea ive made all these up and then refined them but if i say itz on the spot i just turn the mic on :D.......ill get to it latter but at the first of a song you hear me beat around the piano that the chords and sounds im lookin for then i play lol........ill submit one of those later....lol wana know a secret on #14 thatz me messing around at the start to find the keys so i didnt mess it up when i played it lol.........thx for the ups itz nice to know people like your music

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
