Superb

You would change MegaMan's key!? HUH?!!!?

Heh, whatever, it worked out wonderfully in the end ^^.

I really like how this song sounds, very very strange, and though it complies very well with itself on several levels, there are some parts where it sounds rather off, and not pleasent.

This however did not stop me from enjoying it ^^.

I would consider using another synth for those hyper notes, yet that same synth works wonderfully right after the quick notes.

Do ff8's The Landing fer me will ya ;).

5/5 from me GrumbleDuke, keep them coming.

Grumbleduke responds:

Seriously, it changes key, unlike every other megaman piece I can name; I didn't do it! (E minor to G# minor to be precise, just after the rapid triplets). As for the "horrible" bits, there are section where the harmonies are not exactly standard (diminished chords and such), and do sound wierd. Adds some colour, in a grating way :). FF8's "The Landing" you say? It's a break from Megaman at least. That's the Dollet one I think. W00t a request!

One of the best here

An amazing song!

I feel the percussional patterns could use a bit of work here, for some reason I felt they were a tad bit off, did not comply that well with the song.

The vocalist is amazing, not sure if that is you, but whoever it is, give them a pat in the pack to them from me, truly pristine, and shimmering with clarity.

Good guitar work.

Lyrics are clear, and very easily understood.

You guys definatly have the potential to make a fair amount of money. Why are you posting your songs here? Take them to producers, I am 99% sure you will get signed on.

5/5 from me SoulReign, thank you for sharing this song with Newgrounds, and myself.

SoulReign responds:

Yes that is me singing and thank you for the compliment. I am constantly improving the sound of my voice with vocal training and exercise, so I sound better now than I did back in the summer when we recorded. I really apreciate the time taken to write a review, thank you very much.

Adam

A divine story, told by a divine tune.

Dan's in the house! EVERYBOOOOODY OUT!

Unless you're here to listen to his tunes, then stay ;).

I absolutely adored the voices and the story you present in this song Dan. The emotion filled strings (which arn't too bad btw ^^) truly made the piece a titan in it's wake.

The melody you begin with is my "summer". The heat of combat, the lives are lost too quickly, too soon brave souls are vanquished by a rusty blade, skewed and destroyed completely.

The "fall" transition is quick, all within 4 seconds. The bleek silence. The energy seeps out, flows through a deep river, and out of sight into an ocean beyond the reach of any man. With this flowing energy, ebbs the courage of veterans, and wounded boys. Their hearts, filled with cowardice, they return home...

And then you move into a sadder melody, a "winter", where life shivers, withers, and humbles itself to death. Wounds are licked, graves are prayed at, the snow lands gingerly on their shoulders and heads, blanketing, and protecting them, if only for a minute.

Then you bring back those strings, while the sad melody is still playing. This is my "spring". The young warriors hold their blades with joy. Today they are real men, ready to slaughter their enemies. The older men, veterans of war, shake their head sadly, and play games, guessing which one will return, which one of the young men have the strength to make it home. Sadly, this year, there are not many... maybe the next year ^^.

The piano melody falls silent, and quiet again. They are off to do what they must.

Then the circle repeats, and life begins anew ^^.

This is the story I got Dan, thank you for sharing this song with myself and NG. Keep them coming.

5/5.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Stop writing music and start writing stories my dear friend... your quite good at it. Your a genius in all that you do and I always value your opinion. Thankyou good sir.

Good stuff

so strange, yet pleasently enticing. Kept me listening the whole way.

It was a very strange style, so I have no feedback to offer you. I enjoyed it greatly, keep them coming.

bobmacpie responds:

yea kewl thanx im glad u liked it
i got the idea from an opera i saw so i thought why not do the same wit modern music
this song took a whole month to sample mix and remix over and over again!

Neat

Definatly makes for good Ambiant music. It progresses to a wonderful tune, but it may progress a little too slowly ^^. Then again it IS ambiant, and its not like your supposed to be all pumped. Just let the song flow in the background.

Excellent ambiance.

5/5 from me Hermit_Canal, keep them coming.

Hurry up and finish it already :P!

I never tire of this song, and every installment you bring, only adds more teh goodness to it.

My only quarral with this song so far, is the overpowering synths. Near the beginning, I know the melody for it is really neat, but it completely distorts everything else in the background, and makes it sounds a tad bit strange.

The ending was pretty neat, I would keep it the way it is now, very nice! Slows down to a neat trickle, and waves goodbye and dies... how sad :'(.

And you should really stop posting a newer version up so soon, you should finish it and post it, you'll get more feedback that way ;P.

5/5 from me i2abbitz, wonderful stuff, keep them coming.

i2abbitz responds:

thanks maestro sorrow. i'll see what i can do with the synths. it probably wont be a while till i post the finished... i want the best out of me when i'm done. =)

Good stuff

That's pretty good! Ameer's got a pretty damn good voice, and you produced it quite finely.

I have no idea how to produce any hip-hop, or rap flavoured songs, so I'm sorry I have no suggestions in making this better, or what I feel should be removed.

I do believe however, that it is of high enough quality to be put on a album.

Neat lyrics.

5/5 from me DJ_OCON.

Mynewaccountis-OCON responds:

Well thank you, this means a lot to me, truly! I love all your music man, u have a gift when it comes to composing classical pieces, and the techno one u made, that came out awesome as well! thanks for your review once again!

-Alyk

Good stuff

Has quite a bit of power behind its short existence.

I really liked your choir, and epic theme. Really gave me intense imagery.

Good job, I have nothing to suggest for such a short piece, but I did enjoy it greatly ;).

4/5 from me pnezzy, keep them coming.

pnezzy responds:

Hehe, thanks... this was my first experiment with ew symphonic software. Umm... thanks again!

Awesomeness

This is perhaps your best song Lone, and I am rather upset by your description. I hope that this is not you saying goodbye forever. I think you have some serious potential, and should definatly not give up!

If I showed you my first song, you would laugh at me.

Don't be afraid to keep fumbling, even birds learn to fall, before they learn to fly.

Enough with my, stay on teh board Rant, onto my Review!

I am very impressed by the percussional system in this song, I KNOW that this is the best percussional work you've presented to us so far.

I also like the choicing of instrumentation, it all seems to sing towards one united point, which is really what songs should be about.

When that oboe part kicked in, I was quite captivated by it. If I am not mistaken, you had used it for another one of yoursongs, but this time, you mixed it up, and it sounded just damn fine.

Then you transitioned it to for the violin to play that melody, which was a great segment for myself, as I am a string fanatic XD!

However, a few points that should be pointed out.

Before the oboe part came in, like 5 seconds before, a lot of percussional sounds, and other sounds, were just dropped. I think, if you had kept all the instruments going, and then, with a nice bang, go into that oboe part.

I truly enjoyed ths song Lone. I listened to it LITERALLY 10 times, and did not tire of it.

Whatever you decide however, I hope the best for you ^^.

5/5 from me. Whoever voted so low, should go to hell.

LoneInstrumentalist responds:

i tried~ realli did, but this is (if its good enuf) a tribute to ur comments X] i extended the melody for string users like u *stares at everyone

anyway~everything was the same (suprised? cept the cymbals) just added the echoe effect (kinda stuffed up on the percs >.<)

*sigh* gotta find that low voter X]

this is actually just a "goodbye" of acid pro (ask on msn) i'll still use it, but now for roughs, since i realli should move on to FL6 (yea, its been there a while now...)

cheerios~ u keep composing too

More wickedness.

You should wake up and just start playing more often!

The recording wasn't that great, there was some muddlement, and I couldn't fully appreciate the melody.

I think you may have been playing a bit too fast for the recorder, cuz it sounds a tad muddled.

The beginning was very deep, depressing, and really moving. I would have to say that was my favorite part.

The melody and feel over the whole song, I enjoyed to no end.

I imagined myself standing there, listening to the piano, and was in fact able to remove most of the recording feel, and almost be there.

The experience was great.

another 5/5 from me, keep them coming Serianous.

Serianous responds:

Lol thx for reviewing my songs very much appreciated, yeah it is muddled, i dont got a great mic and i was making it up as i was playing it so sometimes the melody didnt quite stand out or harmonize with my pedal

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
