Finally!

SOMEBODY DID IT, FINALLY!!

The landing!

ZOMG!

I love this song, and I love you for doing it. May the heavens shine on your broad musical shoulders all day long, even in nighttime when you're trying to get sleep, but they won't let you, because they're having too much fun at your squirming, and you wake up too tired 'n stuff...

Awesome man, great stuff ^^. You did a great version of it.
5/5 from me.

Grumbleduke responds:

Hey, you told me to write this, so voila! I sleep with the lights on anyway :P.

Zorgasmic

I get to be first reviewer!!!

Huzzah!

The great thing about this song, is that it is by far a TRUE remix. Every other Tetris "remix" i've heard to date was the same notes, merely with different synths, add a pad MAYBE, along with a few added percussional sounds.

This ventures, this travels, and this is new. This is new, yet old, strange, yet familiar.

The song flows amazingly well, and compliments the old melody well with the new one.

I have nothing else to add to this song, nor do I have any suggestions, great job Dan, 5/5 as always from me.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Hey Hey... thankyou Maestro... it's good to have you back. It's been a while since I tried my hand at a techno like piece. And I always told myself I'd make a remake of a song one day. So here it is... with my own spin. Great to hear from you again.

Damn impressive

this is an awesome piece Chrizzly, the intro was indeed exceptional, had an awesome feel which has inspired me a good deal.

What does it make Chrizzly, if I listen to this song for a couple hundred times? We'll find out in about three hours.

Good panning effect, kinda scary yet impressive.

You have the voice of a pyschopath, only a plus for Heavy metal, awesome stuff man.

Great solo.

I think the song should just be a tad... faster really, thats the only thing I would like to see.

I have little else to add Chrizzly, I slap you with a 5 as well, keep em coming man.

Chrizzly responds:

Hahahahahah, i dunno why but that psychopath thing made me laugh my ass of (lmao as a com-nerd would say)Glad u liked the panning...i thought it would be cool...
Great to see you reviewing again, gives me more hope in my music!
Thanx for the 5 ol' fellow!

Sweet

It's been too long since i've visited your page Chrizzly, and since i'm studying metal music for a long while, I will be visiting here on a much more regular basis!

Anyways, onto the song.

Awesome loop. :P

Thats all I can say really, I suck at giving loops reviews.

Has the feel you wanted to give it though, would make awesome background music.

Chrizzly responds:

Hehe, yeah i don't expect much words at loops either...it's good Maestro, thank you!

Well done.

The muffled "sound" is probably because the quality of the song had to be reduced. It's 5:30, 128 bitrate that would be around 5.5-6 mb's.

It is an exceptional story however, I enjoyed listening to it greatly.

It seems a tad cliche however, the overall type of vibe from this song has been a tad overdone, however that means nothing in the quality of the work.

I really liked your choirs. I would be careful with that volume control, I know the effect you were going for, like the washing of vocals, but the degree you did this at was too severe, it cut back and forth far too much, it would have been better if you just kept it a stable note.

Loved the strings, i'm all about the strings!

It has a very defiant feel to it for sure, I love it.

You must tell me where you got your choirs ;).

5/5 from me madboss, keep them coming, great work here.

madboss responds:

Thanks for your detailed reviews (for this and for the Wintersun)- I think they are really usefull, so thank you!

You was asking the choir - these are the choirs from this song. Well these are the basic choirs in Reason 3.0 - this program has a great variety of classical instruments, and has some great choirs - I used these.

Teh awesome

Had my head rushing, and banging throughout the wholesong man, you have some crazy speed and finasse going on here, and its all well focused, and works well.

I have nothing to really suggest in making this piece better, it was quite exciting ^^.

DR-Hobo responds:

Thanks Maestro I like your music alot I think I'll put them to disc and listen to them when im falling asleep very relaxing.

Awesome

I must say, I am extremely impressed.

As a classical composer, I put a lot of emphasis on feel and structure of the song, both of which I think you have done very well at.

The slow strings (cello?) you use at the beginning is quite misleading though, I would not have expected to go where it did, though of course that was in no way a bad thing, I like surprises.

You weren't joking when you said it was circus music, I can so hear this there, I absolutely love your use of the percussions, the triangle, snares, the whole works.

In my opinion however, the most powerful part of this song is when you bring back those strings and have that frill flute dancing, it has such an awesome feel to it.

I can't make music like this, I truly appreciated it.

Anything less then a 5/5 would be wrong, so here you go ^^. Keep them coming.

JamesMillen responds:

Very kind!

I did it as part of a music tech course, so I probably had an advantage by having high quality equipment (though it was only Cubase and Reason)

Though I constructed the chord structure and song structure All of the instruments (barring the strings) are fully sequenced through a device called a "Matrix", which is why the patterns repeat.

My original plan was something like "Classical" then "Dixieland", then "Marching" and finish on "Baroque".

Thanks for your comments

A seriously humbling moment.

heh... I walk away for a few months, and here you are tearing up the boards with your songs.

I am quite pleased with your effort, and quite proud.

They are right you know Dan, you have some crazy crazy power, I have a lot of respect for you.

This song moved me, very deeply.

I can't keep complimenting your piano work, i've done it enough times.

If I should die anytime soon Dan, I want you to fly here in Toronto/Canada, and play this song for my funeral, they would weep for me a lake, and I would rest at the bottom of it all, with this melody weaving itself into my degrading corpse.

I have so many stories for this song, with so little time.

MilkMan-Dan responds:

Maestro... oh Maestro... whatever has happened to thee. You come back momentarily and I miss you altogether. Of course you left two great songs in your wake. Thanks for taking the time outta whatever has been keeping your busy and writing me a review.

Now enough with this talk of dieing... you got me worried here buddy. If you died I'd hafta write a new song Called... "Ode to the Maestro"... and it would be my most emotional song yet. ANd then I'd kick ur ass for making me write it ;). Talk to me sometime bud.

Impressive

It sounds familiar this song... but I simply can't seem to say from where. I am not saying you stole it or anything, it simple reminds me of another song here on AP... or on TV, I can't remember that either :P.

Still, very good use of those plucked instruments, they kept the song moving, and was quite powerful.

I would watch the high frequency of those bells, and distortion of the song, if you are using Fruity Studio's, which I think you are, then use the compresser effect to remove all the distortion.

It loops wonderfully. 4/5 from me, keep them coming.

Nigty responds:

Thank you ^^, well, i always try to do my best ^^ but im a beginner so it's tough but fun ; ).. Thans for your review ^^

I am quite impressed

You write well, the music just jumps out at me, and makes me dance in its spirit.

I was quite moved.

I would say the melody was what caught me the most, and I can point fingers at the strings in the background, as simple as they may be, I feel they truly added some power to the feeling, especially when you bring them up an octave, in fact I completely point at them at that point. Those strings were wonderful.

That could just be me, i'm a very very string fanatic ;).

The song loops pretty well, this is my third time through it, and I just realized.

Good stuff, 5/5 from me, keep them coming.

Lova-Gurl responds:

thanks

It's been one hell of a ride guys, but it's time for me to leave. I will still be looking at my inbox, if you want me to look at songs, I will check back every once in a while. Take care Newgrounds! full_metal_slashemist@hotmail.com AIM: MaestroSorrow
